Kevin planned us a little weekend getaway to Austin for my birthday. Louis loves to travel, so we packed our bags and took the baby with us! Our first stop in Austin was Nature’s Treasures. I had been wanting to check it out for awhile, so I was excited to finally be able to do that. They had an amazing selection of crystals and fossils. It was pure eye candy. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it! Next we hit up Browning Hangar to get some lunch at one of the food trucks. Louis had a blast barking at the birds that got too close to our table. We checked into Aloft, a pet friendly hotel in the Domain. After we got settled in, we went back out to do some shopping. Austin is super pet friendly, so Louis was even allowed in most of the stores. We stumbled upon this massive David Bowie mural (while I was wearing my David Bowie shirt) so I had to take a photo! The weather turned on us and it started pouring. We took shelter under the covered patio at Velvet Taco. We each ordered two tacos to try, and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a fan. We grabbed cupcakes from the Sprinkles ATM and decided to call it a night. The next day, the weather still wasn’t cooperating, but we headed toward South Congress anyway. By the time we got there, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. We walked the whole strip and Louis encountered a few other dogs along the way. We made it to Blackmail Boutique to see their current window display. They are currently showcasing Death, one of the four Rocking Horses of the Apocalypse. You can see more of the artist’s stunning work at 4rhota on Instagram. It was a fantastic and relaxing weekend. Louis was so worn out that he slept the whole way back to Houston. I’d call that a success!
