This weekend my husband and I went to check out the Frida festival in the Greater East End District. Viva Frida! is the annual Frida festival put on by the East End Studio Gallery to celebrate the life and legacy of one of Latin America’s most important artists, Frida Kahlo. This family and pet friendly event featured may different artists, vendors and foods. There was even a Guinness World Records attempt for the largest gathering of people dressed as Frida Kahlo. I loved seeing all the people rocking their flower crowns and unibrows. I regret that I didn’t have time to pull a costume together myself. I was, however, wearing my Frida necklace, bag and socks! We made sure to stop by and visit one of our favorite vendors, Three Sisters Jewelry & Accessories. I had to carry Louis quite a bit even though he wanted to walk, but I was afraid distracted people were going to step on him. When he did walk though, he was weaving through the crowds like a pro. He was super good, and didn’t bark at any kids or dogs. I was so proud! We snagged some churros from the always delicious Planet Churro and decided to call it a day. We all had a great time, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day outside. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for next year!
