I’ve been looking for some inexpensive ways to revamp my living room. I have one wall in particular that I’m never really satisfied with. I live in an apartment, so I don’t want to invest a lot of money buying furniture just to fit that specific space that I may not use later. I added a little console table that I already had. I styled it with a lamp, some crystals, a record player, a vase and some books that I already had in other areas of the apartment. I did buy the large round mirror from IKEA. I had been wanting it for quite some time, and I know I will use it again even if I move. I also have a little bench that I absolutely love that fits perfectly under the console table. The only problem with the bench is that it is navy blue velvet. It matches nothing else in the room. Since I love the size and acrylic legs on the bench, I thought an easy solution would be to bust out the old staple gun and add some new fabric to it. I ordered a graphic black and white vintage mudcloth on Etsy. It was a little tricky to work with because it was pretty fragile and easy to rip through the woven sections if you pulled too hard. I did my best to keep it pretty straight. I have OCD, so I’ve been obsessing over every little crooked line, but I just need to live with it for a little while and adjust to the change. I’m hard on myself that way. When my husband saw it, he just thought it looked awesome! I kept trying to point out flaws, and I need to stop doing that. I know some of you all can relate. All in all, I think it turned out pretty cool for an inexpensive DIY project. The living room is still a work in progress, but for now, it gave the wall the little facelift it needed.
